With quarterback Tony Romo sidelined for the foreseeable future, the Dallas Cowboys turn their hopes to unproven rookie Dak Prescott, who certainly looked great in preseason action.
While the regular season hasn’t even begun, many are already envisioning a ‘Brady takes Bledsoe’s job’ scenario when the time comes for a healthy enough Romo to take the field.
Although it’s very premature to make those kind of assumptions, Cowboys executive V.P. Stephen Jones didn’t quite deny it hadn’t crossed his mind.
“I can’t imagine a scenario where Tony’s not our quarterback when he’s ready,” Jones said, per Peter King of TheMMQB.com.
“But things happen. You know that. You know what happened to Bledsoe and [Tom] Brady. I’m sure Tony’s aware of that. But the reality is Tony’s going to come back for us and play great, we believe.”
