Adrian Peterson done for year, and maybe in Minnesota for good

According to Vikings.com, the team placed running back Adrian Peterson on injured reserve on Friday, ending his season, and maybe career with the club. Peterson had successful surgery on his knee this past week; however, the team chose not to put him on the “designated-to-return” list, despite having the option.

Vikings.com writes:

‘Peterson, 31, suffered a torn meniscus on Sunday, just two games into his 10th pro season. Jerick McKinnon and Matt Asiata filled the void in 2014 when Peterson missed all but one game, and are expected to do the same moving forward. Zimmer said McKinnon is likely to start against the Panthers on Sunday.’
