According to Josh Katzenstein of the New Orleans Times-Picayune, The New England Patriots were willing to give their 32nd pick of the NFL Draft for Saints wide receiver Brandin Cooks.
And the Saints reportedly declined the offer.
New Orleans is said to be looking for a “significant return” in order to part ways with Cooks, and the Pats offer apparently fell short. Whether or not there’s a counter-offer has yet to be reported. Both The Eagles and Titans are said to be interested in the 23-year-old. They hold the 14th and 18th picks respectively.
In his two years with the Saints, Cooks has a total of 226 catches for 3,272 yards, with 24 TDs, and is coming off a 2016 season with 1,173 yards – a career high.
