The Oakland Raiders traveled down to Mexico City for a win against the Texans in 2016, and head coach Jack Del Rio thinks that playing in that environment, with it’s high elevation, has them more prepared for it than the Super Bowl Champion Patriots, who’ll they’ll face at the same venue in 2017.
“Quite a bit. We had a good post-op review as well. We’re not going to share any of that with you or with Coach [Bill] Belichick,” Del Rio said, per Paul Perillo of Patriots.com.
“We loved the experience going down and playing in that environment was a great environment. We look forward to going down again.”
USA Today: ‘NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell announced during Super Bowl week that the Raiders will “host” another game against the New England Patriots in 2017. If it works into the schedule, Waller said, the preference is to play again the weekend before Thanksgiving to establish a routine, similar to how the NFL regularly played in late October during the early days of its London series that began in 2007.’
