While no word has come down just yet, it would make perfect and understandable sense for Jerry Jones and the Dallas Cowboys to give quarterback Tony Romo his walking papers.
And Romo’s best-case scenario would be to land in the mile high city – an AFC team that would find Jones’ approval (the major concern for him is Romo ending up somewhere like NFC division rival Washington).
According to multiple NFL sources, via 9News, Broncos GM John Elway is ready to go after Romo if and when the quarterback is released.
‘ One agent source also told 9News that Romo’s preferred choice is the Broncos. Denver is not the only team expected to pursue Romo, though. There was buzz at the NFL Combine the Houston Texans would also be interested, but would they give up on Brock Osweiler after paying him $21 million in 2016, his first year with the team, and another $16 million guaranteed this season? ‘
