While the Oakland Raiders would like to re-sign wide receiver Andre Holmes, it looks like they’ll have plenty of competition once free agency begins.
ESPN’s Jeremy Fowler says the Raiders are in the mix, but so are the 49ers, Redskins, Lions, Jets and Bears.
The 6-foot, 210 lb. Holmes had 14 catches for 126 yards with 3 TDs in 2016, but his value lies in his effectiveness as a run blocker. That type of versatility is what many teams look for, so given the Raiders’ financial situation, they might not have the best offer to retain him.
Free agency begins on March 9th, with the so-called legal tampering period starting Tuesday at noon.
Potential suitors for WR Andre Holmes, I’m told: 49ers, Redskins, Lions, Jets, Bears, Raiders
