Running back Ray Rice continues to be blackballed by NFL teams unwilling to give him a second chance after video emerged of the former Raven punching his wife in an Atlantic City casino elevator.
“I can still play football,” Rice said, per ESPN. “I’m never going to give up. You’re never going to hear me say I gave up.”
The domestic violence issue is enough to keep teams away, but many believe his dismal performance in his last NFL season, 2013, all but guarantees he won’t be looked at.
Rice ran for 660 yards that year, his lowest output since his 2008 rookie year.
“The reason why I’m not playing football, you do the dots,” he added. “It ain’t because I’m a bad football player. That’s just keeping it real. I’m never giving up and never giving in.”
