Former Philadelphia Eagles running back Brian Westbrook thinks all the back and forth suggestions proposed by so-called draft analysts is too much, and the clear choice of who the team should go after in April is Florida State’s Dalvin Cook.
The Eagles hold the 14th overall pick.
“I’ve heard Mel Kiper come on and say a lot of different things,” Westbrook said, via The Eagles Wire/USA TODAY. “Every other week he is saying something different. I still believe with the weapons that we have on the offensive side of the ball, if Dalvin Cook is there we should make a run at Dalvin Cook.”
“Add a running back that you can hand the ball off to 20 times a game and throw the ball three to five times a game,” he added. “It changes your offense into something that turns you from 23 points a game to 28 to 30 points per game. Now your defense doesn’t have to hold teams to 14 points a game to win.”
