Washington Redskins quarterback Kirk Cousins isn’t expecting to be traded after signing his franchise tender worth $23.94 million.
And he’s content with that.
“I haven’t heard anything. I’m not expecting anything to happen,” Cousins told NFL Live, per NFL.com. “And I’m looking forward to getting back to work with my teammates.”
After signing the franchise tag, Cousins received assurance from ownership that he would not be traded. As of now, the question of signing him to a long-term deal after 2017 looms.
“The team would need to make that decision and say that this is a guy we’re going to commit to in the long haul,” Cousins said on the show. “I’m very comfortable playing under the franchise tag.”
