New England Patriots owner Bob Kraft told the crowd at a Bloomberg event Tuesday night that because of Roger Goodell and NFL’s handling of the team’s ‘Deflategate” discipline, February’s comeback Super Bowl win was ‘unequivocally the sweetest’ one out of the franchise’s 5th championship.
Little did we know, they were in the process of filing for a new trademark on the phrase.
I guess the “F–k Goodell” trademark was already taken.
Per ESPN, ‘The New England Patriots filed to trademark “Unequivocally The Sweetest” on April 17, records with the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office show. The team wrote in its filing that the intended use of the phrase is for “pre-recorded DVDs featuring sports.” ‘
And it’s not the only trademark the team has applied for, having filed to trademark two of head coach Bill Belichick’s phrases: “No Days Off” and “Ignore The Noise.” The team also filed to trademark “OneMore” and “Blitz For Six.”
