The Pittsburgh Steelers were all reportedly in agreement that the team as a whole would stay in the locker room during the National Anthem on Sunday, but one lone Steeler, former Army ranger LT Alejandro Villanueva decided to do his own thing.
Alejandro Villanueva chose to stand just outside of the entrance and salute the flag as the anthem played.
While his decision was reportedly excused due to his prior military service, veteran linebacker James Harrison was a bit confused.
“We thought we were all in attention with the same agreement, obviously, ” Harrison said, per Pennlive.com. “But, I guess we weren’t.”
Other Steelers like OL Chris Hubbard, saw no problem with Villanueva’s move.
“Al was cool with it, with whatever we went through. He was on board. That’s Al, man,” Hubbard said. “He’s a good guy.”
