Harrison on Patriots’ worst-ranked defense: They don’t have that tone setter

3 weeks into the 2017 NFL season and the defending champ New England Patriots have the worst-ranked defense in the league.

Hardly something that anyone could imagine before the season started.

Former Patriots safety Rodney Harrison was ready to crown them champs again – “one of the top secondaries in the league,” he supposed just prior to their opening game against Kansas City, and we know what a debacle that turned out to be for New England.

“Yeah, I don’t get it. I’m even more stunned at Matt Patricia and Belichick,” Harrison told the Boston Herald. “I can’t believe what I’m seeing out there. Wow!

“The problem with the Patriots is they don’t have that spark plug. They don’t have that one guy who’s a tone setter. Edelman was that spark plug on the offense. They don’t have that one guy who sets the tone and challenges everybody on the defense.”
