With Green Bay Packers running back Ty Montgomery fully practicing for a second straight day this week, there’s a good chance he’ll take the field Sunday at Minnesota, according to reports.
Montgomery is still on the mend from broken ribs suffered Sept. 28 against Chicago, so he’ll be suited up with a flak jacket to protect the area – something he’s familiar with.
“I played with one in high school,” he said, per WTMJ Milwaukee. “It’s very normal. A flak jacket is very normal. It’s not in the way or anything.”
During the lone padded practice, Montgomery said he “felt fine” after a couple of hits.
“Based on what we’ve seen in practice, I think he can” play, running backs coach Ben Sirmans said later in the day. “They have equipment now that can basically absorb any type of impact. Based on what he’s done the past two days, I would say that he’s moving around and it seems like he could play.
