Patriots RB Mike Gillislee: ‘Not easy’ being a continuous healthy scratch

New England Patriots running back Mike Gillislee has been a healthy scratch for 5 consecutive weeks, hardly what he envisioned when he bolted Buffalo for supposed greener pastures.

Gillislee looked like a keeper in Week 1 vs Kansas City, rushing for 3 TDs, but only averaged 4 yards per carry since while adding only 1 more TD to his 2017 total.

“It’s been a coach’s decision. … It’s not easy, I can tell you that.” Gillislee said, via ESPN’s Mike Reiss. “But I’m a team player and always going to put my team first. I’m not going to be a distraction.”
